LAST WEEK we got word that Clive Barker’s HELLRAISER is going to be remade afterall, and the world looked darker for a brief moment. It’s been a few days for the news to really sink in, and I’ve come to the acceptance stage of grief and remorse. Bummer.
Anyway, before the new HELLRAISER, we’re gonna have our hands full with other Barker schtuff, including MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN, and BOOK OF BLOOD, based off of Barker’s short stories from his anthology of sick and twisted tales, The Books of Blood.
Matador Pictures released the first look at the teaser poster art for BOOK OF BLOOD, and it’s just about as awesome as you’d expect. The poster, set to debut at Berlin International Film Festival, contains the bloody horror that the book suggests – my only problem? Why is ‘Cliver Barker’s Book of Blood’ on here twice? I mean, is the title really necessary here at the bottom? It says it all on the back, man…
But enough nit-picking! The poster is sweet, and you can check out a bigger version of it by headingHERE. As a refresher, BLOOD goes like this: Paranormal researcher Mary Florescu’s investigations lead her to Simon McNeal, a college student who appears to be channelling messages from the dead. As their erotic relationship develops the line between the worlds of the living and the dead become blurred and finally collapse in a stunning and astonishing climax.
No word, exactly, when BLOOD will be hitting theaters – keep it right here as we wait to find out. In the meantime, click HERE for more information on the film.
