Blumhouse thriller Jessabelle pushed back several months

The Jason Blum-produced supernatural thriller JESSABELLE has hit a snag on its way to the cinema. The film, directed by Kevin Greutert (SAW 6 & 7), was originally supposed to hit theaters on August 29th – a popular late summer date for horror movies – but now Lionsgate has suddenly moved it all the way back to November 7th. In addition, the studio will be releasing it simultaneously in theaters and on VOD; an interesting strategy.

From the mastermind producer of Paranormal Activity and Insidious comes the ghostly tale of Jessabelle. Returning to her childhood home in Louisiana to recuperate from a horrific car accident, Jessabelle (Sarah Snook of Sleeping Beauty) comes face to face with a long-tormented spirit that has been seeking her return — and has no intention of letting her escape.

JESSABELLE stars Sarah Snook, Mark Webber, David Andrews, Joelle Carter, Ana de la Reguera, Larisa Oleynik, Chris Ellis, Fran Bennett and Amber Stevens.
