According to everyone’s fave horror mag, Fangoria, BOO, which was written and directed by Anthony C. Ferrante, is coming to DVD October 25 from Ventura Distribution. Brian O’Toole (who broke the story), acted as producer through Kismet’s Graveyard Filmworks on the movie, which follows a group of college students who get trapped in a haunted hospital on Halloween (sounds like Silent Hill to me). The movie stars Dee “THE HOWLING” Wallace-Stone, Trish Coren, M. Steven Felty and Jilon Ghai.
BOO is also scheduled to be screened at two UK festivals this month: Frightfest ’05 and Fantasy Filmfest.
I am so happy for Anthony to have his hard work on BOO shown on the festival circuit so horror fans can experience the film the way it was meant to be seen—in a theater,” says O’Toole. I have a small sense of déjà vu because a previous production I was involved in, DOG SOLDIERS, was a huge success overseas theatrically but never made the silver screen in the U.S. as well. I suspect, as with DOG SOLDIERS, BOO will be a cult hit on DVD. I can tell you from working on the set every day with Anthony that he put his heart and soul into that film and deserves any and all success that comes from BOO.”
Unfortunately, there’s no info on any supplements to be included with the disc. What gets me pumped is the fact that on October 25th, we also get The Fog (SE), The Amityville Horror (2005), The Fly (SE) and The Fly 2 (SE), the Val Lewton Horror Collection and the master of suspence himself, Hitchcock: Masterpiece Collection. I guess that blows my paycheck…
