Brian Shirley’s Crocaloctopus campaigning for Syfy and The Asylum

While they continue to churn out horrible “mockbusters” that rip off popular films, The Asylum has recently found success in producing low budget creature features such as MEGA SHARK VS GIANT OCTOPUS for Syfy. They make no effort to conceal their cheesiness, rendering them good way to waste a Saturday night.

Seeing a market for such fun flicks, GeekTyrant writer Brian Shirley has come up with his own idea: CROCALOCTOPUS. He is now campaigning both Syfy and The Asylum to make the film. From the press release:

CROCALOCTOPUS’ goal is to have a Saturday night movie on Syfy aka the new creature features the channel is putting out or having The Asylum pick the story up and pit the hybrid creature up against one of its already familiar monsters in the stable.

If you’d like to support the cause, T-shirts featuring Dennis Willman’s graphic below are available for $15. A comic book is planned for Spring of 2011. More information can be found on the film’s Facebook.

Is there room for a Crocaloctopus in a world already inhabited by a Crocosaurus and a Sharktopus? Would you tune in to Syfy to watch this one?
