Brief Interviews clip

JoBloJoBlo

The conquest into the brain of a man is nothing short of fascinating. Yes, that was a serious comment.

In John Krasinski’s directorial debut for BRIEF INTERVIEWS WITH HIDEOUS MEN, THE OFFICE actor pulls from the pages of the book of the same name by the late David Foster Wallace. Here’s the plot for the movie: A graduate student (Julianne Nicholson) is left by her boyfriend with no explanation. In order to fill the void, she decides to cope with the breakup by doing interviews with various men for her dissertation. The personalities of these men however are repulsive, bizarre, sad, and unusual. And somehow, she’s actually surprised. The plot for the actual book is just made up of 23 different stories from the subjects, as opposed to a scorned woman interviewing them.

In this clip, subject #2 (Josh Charles) goes through the same speech with several different women about how scary the relationship is for him. Women that actually believe this shit are beyond me. Now, please don’t take this as man bashing because it isn’t. Most of our readership is men and some of those men are actually gentlemen. I do give you credit however, some of you men are quite clever, or so you think. Insert wink smiley face.
