The ManRoom.com scored an interview with Bruce Campbell that’s definitely worth a read. I’ve dropped a couple of fun tidbits below and then you can click on over to check out the whole interview.
TMR: Instead of just another audio book you gathered up some fellow thespians and turned Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way into a radio play.
BC: That’s exactly right, it’s an epic! The idea was to not pump out the same crap, as folks generally tend to demand more. It’s what Sam Raimi and I used to do in high school anyway, but on a much broader scale. And also it’s a way to show the book on a bridge to folks in a way that it’s not cut down. It’s not anything, its just the whole damn book.
TMR: How do you feel about all the horror films that are being made right now?
BC: I think they are wimpy. I think they are trying too hard to be obtuse. They should be more balls out and scary. They should make people scream because that’s what horror films should do, and I don’t think they are getting that. PG-13 is not a horror movie. When I see a horror film that’s PG-13 I flip it off; I say you’re not going to get my money because this is a film for pussies. There is no such thing. Only an R-Rated movie and above can be considered a horror movie. I’m sorry but it’s for adults! Kids, don’t look because heads are going to be flying! And I think it’s a good advertisement, you’re killing a part of the population. “You can’t see this movie!” And guess what? It makes them want to see it even more!
TMR: Recently TheManRoom got to speak with Don Coscarelli and one of the questions mentioned was the status of Bubba Nosferatu: Curse of the She-Vampires. What is the status as of bringing your character of Elvis back to the big screen?
BC: I think it will get made. I think everyone is interested in doing it. MGM just got purchased by Sony so it’s going to be a year of chaos. Projects all will be put on hold; they have bigger issues to deal with. It’s just a matter of time.
