Bruce Willis brings his friends and trigger finger out of retirement in the trailer for Red

JoBloJoBlo

I knew that when Warren Ellis’ comic RED got adapted into a Bruce Willis movie, it would need to have the story fleshed out a bit. The three-issue miniseries was a tight but swift little espionage thriller about a retired CIA agent who finds himself wearing a bullseye because of the secrets still in his head.

I did not, however, expect the filmmakers to completely change the tone into a total screwball comedy about a whole gang of elderly ex-spies. But that’s apparently what it is.

The movie comes from director Robert Schwentke (FLIGHTPLAN, THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE) and also features Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, Richard Dreyfuss, Karl Urban, Brian Cox, Ernest Borgnine, Julian McMahon and Mary-Louise Parker.
