Jerry Bruckheimer, who would buy a cake recipe for a million dollars if he thought he could spin it into a blockbuster, has found himself an intriguing new project. It’s called SHAKE, based on a short story from writer Derek Haas (pictured right). Bruckheimer has hired Haas and his frequent collaborator Michael Brandt to turn the tale into a screenplay. Naturally, he has paid them seven figures to do so.
All that is known about SHAKE is that it’s the pulpy story of an FBI agent chasing a killer while he begins to lose control of his own body. Now, not exactly sure what losing control of his own body entails, but I’m going to assume it doesn’t mean he starts pissing and crapping all over himself… This project was bought for Disney, after all… I suppose, based on the title, he just starts to shake!
Haas and Brandt are without question two of the most prolific scribes in Hollywood, having worked on the screenplays for 3:10 TO YUMA, 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS, and WANTED. They’ve also got THE A-TEAM, BEVERLY HILLS COP 4, and WANTED 2 and 3 on the horizon… So yeah, their words turn into dollar bills, y’all.
