Marcel Walz on Brute 1986
Walz has made no secret of his affection for classic slasher movies, naming several influential horror favorites as inspirations for the new film while speaking with our friends at Bloody Disgusting.
“The whole team and I had so much fun on this movie. I’m a huge fan of the slasher genre, especially Friday the 13th Part 6, The Burning, Halloween, Sleepaway Camp, and many more. That being said, we also knew we can’t make a pure ’80s horror, but we transferred our love of those movies to the screen.”
Brute 1986 is coming soon from Cinephobia Releasing. An official release date has not yet been announced, so stay tuned for further updates.
