The last article written about Seth Landau’s cultish horror offering BRYAN LOVES YOU by our man The Arrow now seems positively prophetic (check out the entire story here)! To sum the article up, basically BRYAN parted ties with its sales agent, leaving its shot at distribution up in limbo. This was very sad news, considering JimmyO’s praising of the film (see his review here). However, we have just learned that faithfully awesome Anchor Bay Entertainment has snagged BRYAN up!
Seems to me that you just can’t keep this flick down! It even fought off a sabotage attempt committed during production in the Phoenix area (perhaps by concerned cultish, I mean, religious groups?). Most recently, a threatening video ordering the producers to “STOP!” the movie’s release was sent to the Landau Motion Pictures Los Angeles p.o. box. “We’re not afraid of anonymous mailers and attempts of sabotage. We’re proud of the movie and we stand by it,” says writer/director Landau.
Hell yeah, Mr. Landau! Don’t take that shit! And now, for you diehard BRYAN-Loving fans, check this: Landau Motion Pictures is giving away one Bryan mask (shown above) used during filming and one shooting script autographed by cast and crew to commemorate their acquirement by Anchor Bay. It stars Tony Todd, George Wendt, Tiffany Shepis and features Daniel Roebuck (THE DEVIL’S REJECTS), Brinke Stevens (SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE, below) and Troma Entertainment’s Lloyd Kaufman.
