My #1 anticipated movie this Fall is without question John Hillcoat’s sure to be moody adaptation of THE ROAD. (not TWILIGHT! Can you believe it?!) Working from a sad, frightening story by the great Cormac McCarthy (NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN), THE ROAD is like an art-house take on the post-apocalyptic horror tale, with Viggo Mortensen starring as a father guiding his young son through the destroyed wasteland once known as America. Most of the people they meet along the way are either cannibals, or victims of the cannibals, and the site Quiet Earth got a look at a few of them (as well as a look at the “cannibal house” which you can see above).
Head on over HERE to see some behind-the-scenes pics. Then you can head over to the Official Site, which doesn’t have much going on at the moment. THE ROAD hits theaters – in limited release – on November 14th, then goes wide on November 26th. Pack your shopping carts with the necessary supplies!
Charlize Theron is in The Road too… Just don’t expect her to look like this…
