Here comes Peter Cotton-tip! Hoppin’ down the Vegas Strip! Splishity splattery murder’s on its way! Oh boy, have I got one f*cked up slice of horror for you guys to stick in your baskets! Get ready to be annihilated by one pissed off waskily wabbit in BUNNYMAN. What’s funny to me is, from the teaser trailer, it appears that writer/director Carl Lindbergh is looking to play this one fairly serious. I guess having the killer be dressed in a giant bunny suit is funny enough to suffice. Of course, you can be the judge yourself because we’ve got the teaser for you below. First, take a look at the insane plot:
A group of friends are on their way back from a spontaneous weekend trip to Las Vegas. While driving through the remote regions of southern California they suddenly find themselves in a sickening game of cat and mouse with a five ton dumptruck and, when looking for help, stumble upon a nightmarish family who takes pleasure in dismembering and eating as many of the kids as possible.
Lindbergh cites heavy influence from EL MARIACHI and TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. I also see a little bit of JEEPERS CREEPERS in there too. Anyways, apparently the reason for Mr. BUNNYMAN’s outfit stems from being severely abused as a child, and now an adult with manifestations of intense rage and child-like taunting behavior. He dresses in a bunny suit as something of a security blanket for his fragile psyche. Sounds like your basic psycho to me. Hopefully the flick delivers something fresh. It sure looks like a crazy, kick-ass time to me!
