Three of the busiest men in the genre would be Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller – Collectively known as Platinum Dunes. Oh yeah, those guys. In the past year alone we saw at least three flicks from these guys with lots more to come, most notably A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. One flick on Platinum Dunes’ state that has seemed to fall off the radar is THE BUTCHERHOUSE CHRONICLES.
Last we heard about this one Frank Borin was set to direct a script from Michael Hidalgo. Well according to Bloody-Disgusting this isn’t the case anymore! Apparently both men have stepped away from the project prompting Paramount to go out and hire Stephen Susco to rewrite the script. No word on if they’re going to start from scratch or if Susco will keep some of Hidalgo’s stuff.
THE BUTCHERHOUSE CHRONICLES is a darkly comic horror stage show about four high school students out to discover the truth behind a mysterious old (haunted) property known as the Butcherhouse. My guess is we won’t be seeing this one for at least another year with Platinum Dunes most likely tackling FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2 next. As always be sure to keep it here for updates as we hear them.
