Butler the Priest

According to Variety this morning, Gerard Butler (DRACULA 2000, REIGN OF FIRE) is in negotiations to star in the Andrew Douglas-directed flick PRIEST.

EVIL DEAD vets Michael DeLuca and Sam Raimi, alongside Josh Donen and Mitchell Peck are producing the film, scheduled to begin filming October 1 in Mexico. Based on the Tokyopop graphic novel created by Min-Woo Hyung, the wild west story revolves around a warrior priest who disobeys church law by teaming with a sheriff and a priestess to track down a band of renegade vampires who have kidnapped his niece.
