DVDActive checks in today with a couple of news items, including the North American release date for SLITHER!

First up is the direct-to-video sequel to 2004’s THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT, the appropriately named BUTTERFLY EFFECT 2. The sequel stars Eric Lively and Erica Durance, Eric being the one with the power to travel through time. The DVD will be available to own from the 10th October this year, with the film being presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track. The only extra material will be a filmmaker commentary, and a behind the scenes featurette.

Lastly is SLITHER, which if you remember, didn’t do so well at the box office, but according to director James Gunn, will be getting the kitchen sink and then some. The film will be available to own 24th of October, and should set you back around $29.98. I guess I go broke again this Halloween…
