Cam duo working on projects with Blumhouse and Raimi

Last year, Netflix released the psychological thriller CAM (pictured above), which marked the feature debut for both director Daniel Goldhaber and screenwriter Isa Mazzei, who based some elements of the story about a tormented camgirl on her own experiences as a camgirl. CAM was well received and got a good amount of attention, so it's no surprise to hear that production companies are interested in working with the filmmaking duo to tell more genre stories.

Goldhaber and Mazzei, who were high school sweethearts, will continue working as a team on upcoming projects.

One project they have in development is set up at Blumhouse and is described as being a "female-driven horror thriller". This may be the same project that Mazzei told The Daily Beast would be a female-led horror movie about a serial killer.

They have also been hired to write and direct an installment of the series 50 States of Fear, which is being produced by Sam Raimi, Tony DiSanto, Van Toffler, and Gunpowder & Sky. That show will be coming to the new short-form mobile streaming service Quibi, which gets its name from the fact that it will be serving viewers "quick bites" of entertainment.

50 States of Fear is meant to feature

the scariest story in every state in the country.

Obviously Goldhaber and Mazzei's work with Blumhouse and on the Raimi/Quibi show is in early stages right now, too early for any details to be available, but we'll keep you updated as the pair craft their follow-ups to CAM.

I enjoyed CAM for the most part, so I look forward to seeing what they'll do next.
