Captain Marvel set to go nova with simultaneous release in China

It's been announced that Marvel Studios' CAPTAIN MARVEL will be going nova in Chinese theaters on the same day as it arrives in North America. This means that whether you're living in China, or have plans to visit the great nation, you'll be able to get your Carol Danvers fix simultaneously on opposite sides of the world. Marvel's next big adventure starring Brie Larson as the mighty Captain Marvel will debut in theaters on March 8, 2019, which is also the date reserved for this year's International Women's Day.

In CAPTAIN MARVEL, Carol Danvers becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck from a script they co-wrote with Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Marvel's first post-Infinity War film also stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as the commander of Starforce, Walter Larson / Mar-Vell, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Algenis Perez Soto as Att-Lass, McKenna Grace as a young Carol Danvers and Annette Bening in an undisclosed role – which I believe to be Carol's mother, though this has yet to be confirmed.

With CAPTAIN MARVEL now opening date-and-date with China, it stands to reason that Marvel's next adventure will rule the worldwide box office during the film's opening weekend and then some. After all, Marvel's AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR stands as the top-grossing foreign film of 2018 with over $2 billion earned in global dollars, a clear signal that "superhero fatigue" has yet to infect the majority of moviegoers.
