Carmella Creeper: General Mills is expanding the Monster Cereal line-up!

General Mills is adding a new Monster Cereal into the mix this Halloween season: Carmella Creeper! A green caramel apple cereal

Recently, a mysterious image showed up online that seemed to indicate that General Mills would be adding a new cereal to the Monster Cereal line-up that already includes Count Chocula, Franken Berry, Boo Berry, Frute Brute, and Yummy Mummy. Now it’s official: this year, there will be a new Monster Cereal on store shelves! The new cereal is called Carmella Creeper and it’s a green caramel apple-flavored cereal that features purple, pink, orange, and yellow marshmallow pieces. You can take a look at the Carmella Creeper cereal box – and the character art – at the bottom of this article.

There has been speculation that Carmella Creeper is inspired by the Bride of Frankenstein, and would therefore be the Bride of Franken Berry. General Mills has now confirmed a connection to Franken Berry, but she’s not his Bride. Carmella Creeper is “a Zombie DJ who is a cousin of Franken Berry.”

If you’re not familiar with the Monster Cereals, this is a line of cereals that General Mills has been releasing in North America since 1971. They’re a seasonal cereal, only available in stores from September 1st through October 31st, and each one has a mascot inspired by classic horror creatures. Every year, General Mills produces Count Chocula (a chocolate cereal with a vampire mascot), Franken Berry (a strawberry cereal with a Frankenstein’s Monster-esque mascot), and Boo Berry (a blueberry cereal with a ghost mascot). Occasionally, they’ll also produce Frute Brute (a cherry cereal with a werewolf mascot) and Yummy Mummy (an orange cereal with a mummy mascot).

This year, General Mills will also be producing the Monster Mash Remix Cereal, which will have all six flavors of Monster Cereal mixed together.

The Monster Cereals have been an important part of my Halloween season every year since I was a kid (Franken Berry is my personal favorite), so I’m glad to see them still going strong and adding new characters and flavors into the mix. I can’t wait to try Carmella Creeper.

Are you a fan of the Monster Cereals, and will you be eating some Carmella Creeper this Halloween season? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
