Following in the footsteps of Clive Barker’s DEMONIK, another horror master has decided to pursue the video game/movie approach. This time it’s John Carpenter and the project is PSYCHOPATH. Carpenter will co-write (with Todd Farmer – JASON X) and also direct the movie. In addition he will handle the in-game cinematics.
The storyline involves an ex-CIA operative who returns to the fold to track a serial killer, and whose own sanity begins to crack as he pursues the case.
Should be cool in the right hands, and I think we can all agree that Carpenter’s are definitely the right hands. Especially since he’s a huge gamer himself, so he’s going to want to make something he’d want to play.
Of course the movie is the best news. Between this and THE 13TH APOSTLE, it’s good to have the man back in the director’s chair again!
