Carpenter likes his cigarettes

With the MASTERS OF HORROR series in full swing on Showtime (and me without satellite), John Carpenter has decided to give his contribution to the series, called ‘Cigarette Burns’, the full promo treatment.

Over at Carpenter’s official site, clicking on the marqee for Cigarette Burns (the actual name, not Carpenter’s name or the MoH logo) takes you to the official site for the episode. Another kickass Flash site that’s a blast to navigate through, the whole thing looks damn creepy, and probably sounds creepy, too (my college computer has no speakers).

The story involves a man named Jimmy Sweetman, who knows how to find rare film prints. However, nothing could prepare him for the daunting search for ‘La Fin Du Monde’ (‘The End of the World’ in English for you non-bilingual types), a film allegedly shown only once and rumored to have driven its audience into a murderous frenzy before the theater mysteriously erupted in flames. ‘Cigarette Burns’ airs on Showtime December 16th.
