Tim Burton’s main squeeze and long time collaborator, Helena Bonham Carter, is in final talks to join the McG directed summer 2009 blockbuster extravaganza TERMINATOR SALVATION: THE FUTURE BEGINS according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Carter, who recently helped Johnny Depp slit a few throats in SWEENEY TODD, is up for a fairly small role… but one that is pivotal to the film. Could she be the next Sarah Connor, seen in flashbacks and whatnot? Could be…
Considering she’s seen mostly as the chick in Burton movies, it’ll be nice to see Carter on the screen from a different director… even if it is McG. She rocked it for David Fincher in FIGHT CLUB, so I can only imagine (and expect) the same rockin’ performance here.
The cast already includes Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Bryce Dallas Howard, Moon Bloodgood, Common, and Jadagrace, which is (I suppose) a pretty good collaborative effort, though it still won’t be the same without Schwarzenegger up in the mix… then again, I’m a TERMINATOR purist, so my opinion’s a little skewed…
Prepare for the battle between humans (especially hot ones like Carter and Bloodgood) and Skynet in theaters next May.
