With Chris Carter’s second X-FILES movie rapidly nearing its descent into theaters, word is starting to escape on what the writer/director will be delivering next. Apparently, it is going to be a dark drama that has been his passion project for some time. I’ve also been told that there is currently quite the shroud of secrecy surrounding the project. This doesn’t come as a huge surprise considering Carter’s (above with his agents) regularly clandestine efforts regarding his FILES. Here’s what we know thus far:
The movie is called FENCEWALKER and it is essentially a coming-of-age semiautobiographical character piece with no supernatural elements. The budget will be fairly modest and as of now, there is no sign of a distributor. The current cast consists of Katie Cassidy (BLACK CHRISTMAS, below), Anne Boleyn, and rapper Xzibit.
Strange title, FENCEWALKER, no? I wonder what that could mean. And though it may sound disconcerting that there is nothing supernatural, I’m betting that at least some of the flick’s elements will seem a tad out of the ordinary (especially if it’s somewhat based on Carter’s life). FENCE is currently shooting in the Los Angeles area, including in Carter’s hometown of Bellflower. More on this as we hear it.
