CBS’ new Star Trek series gets a teaser poster

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

CBS has released a teaser poster for its new Star Trek television series, and while it doesn't reveal anything about the show, I guess that's kind of the point of teasers. Not much is known about the planned series, however it's been said that it won't be related to the latest films.

Alex Kurtzman (who co-wrote J.J. Abrams' STAR TREK and its sequel) and Hannibal's Bryan Fuller will executive produce the series, and the latter will also serve as its showrunner. Last month Fuller said, “It is without exaggeration a dream come true to be crafting a brand new iteration of ‘Star Trek’ with fellow franchise alum Alex Kurtzman and boldly going where no ‘Star Trek’ series has gone before." THE WRATH OF KHAN and THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY director Nicholas Meyer is also involved with the project as a consulting producer and writer.

The new Star Trek series is expected to premiere on CBS in January 2017 before it moves to CBS All Access, while Justin Lin's STAR TREK BEYOND will hit theaters on July 22, 2016.
