Two months ago, we got our first tease of Starz’ upcoming Ash vs Evil Dead series. Based on THE EVIL DEAD franchise, the new series will herald the return of Bruce Campbell as Ash, last seen in Sam Raimi‘s ARMY OF DARKNESS (not counting his cameo in 2013’s EVIL DEAD). The series is currently in production in New Zealand and is set to debut this Fall on the premium cable network.

Billed as a sequel to the original EVIL DEAD, the series will give us a comedic glimpse into a world plagued by horror.

Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

Fans of the films will be excited by this brief teaser that confirms the one-handed Ash will be aided by his trusty chainsaw which can only mean lots and lots of gore in the over the top series. I am very excited to see Ash vs Evil Dead as the Sam Raimi films have always ranked as some of my all time favorite movies. Plus, with new castmember Lucy Lawless and Sam Raimi directing the first episode, this show can do no wrong.

Ash vs Evil Dead debuts this Fall on Starz.
