Not unlike his colleague Wes Craven, John Carpenter is diving into the world of comic books. Hey, as it gets more and more difficult to raise money for a film, you’ve got to go with another creative outlet, and comics are a great forum.

Carpenter, along with his partner Sandy King and his VAMPIRES star Thomas Ian Griffith, have created ASYLUM, and we’ve got the new cover for you below. Is it me, or does homeboy resemble Dolph Lundgren a little bit?

Here’s what ASYLUM, which was penned by Bruce Jones, is all about:

There’s a war coming and the battle ground is the City of Angels. In tunnels beneath the city, in the dark alleys among the homeless…demons lurk and Lucifer bides his time. One man knows. One man sees. One man walks those dark streets.

ASYLUM comes out nationwide in May. Check out some pages on its official Facebook page.
