As far as quality PG-13 horror is concerned in 2011, look no further than James Wan’s new psychological thriller INSIDIOUS (ironically almost titled THE FURTHER). I know our very own Arrow dug the hell out of the film (PEEP HIS REVIEW), and now that the official trailer has been released, we know why he did. Do yourself a favor and scope that shite out below!

What’s really cool about the trailer is the way it’s starts off serene, even somewhat quiet. As it progresses, it gets eerier and eerier until the final 30 seconds or so kick into overdrive and assault your senses. I also dig how the flick is part haunted house, part possession flick…and the mystery lying within those distinctions. Damn I can’t wait for this one to hit!

Co-written with Wan by his right hand man Leigh Whannell – INSIDIOUS revolves around a that family looks to prevent evil spirits from trapping their comatose child in a realm called The Further.

Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne (below), Lin Shaye, Barbara Hershey, Angus Sampson, Ty Simpkins, Andrew Astor and J. La Rose all assume a role in the film.

INSIDIOUS hits theaters April 1st.
