Check out the guns on The Rock and Rihanna

JoBloJoBlo

The trailer for big-budget board game adaptation BATTLESHIP gave us rebellious Taylor Kitsch, commanding Liam Neeson, breasty Brooklyn Decker, and the genuinely silly premise of the movie itself, but pop star Rihanna seemed to get lost in the mix. Either that or we just didn’t notice her without a scarlet wig and stripper costume.

To rectify that, Rihanna Daily has offered a good look at Rihanna’s less provocative but still action-ready Petty Officer, all set to blast some alien invaders with an imposing deck-mounted cannon.

Meanwhile, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is prepping for his role as Roadblock in G.I. JOE: RETALIATION, and tweeted a pic of his beefy self aiming an M249 SAW light machinegun. Does this mean the sequel will ditch the pulse guns and bouncy suits to favor a bit more realism? I don’t know, and yes, I realize knowing is half the battle.

But this I know: Director Jon M. Chu (STEP UP 2 & 3D, JUSTIN BIEBER: NEVER SAY NEVER) is handling both sides of the battle with The Rock, Channing Tatum, Ray Park, Byung-hun Lee, Adrianne Palicki, DJ Cotrona, Elodie Yung, Joe Mazzello, The RZA, COBRA, Ray Stevenson’s Firefly and other unspecified villains. The movie hits June 29, 2012.
