Last year I hit you all with the details on some nifty collectibles from Showtime’s hit show “Dexter.” You guys remember that? Well here I am a year later to tell you about some more “Dexter” goods heading our way! Just read on for the skinny!
First up we’ve got a brand new “Dexter” bust from the guys over at Dark Horse. Now this isn’t just any bust folks. It’s a pretty badass Limited Edition bust of Michael C. Hall’s Dexter! As you can see from the shot above the front view of the bust will show ‘Daytime’ Dexter, checking out a very interesting evidence slide, while the back shot of the bust gives us a look at ‘Night-time’ Dexter, wielding a juicy looking butcher knife ready to slice and dice! Not too shabby huh? I’m definitely digging this one! Whats says you guys? Ready for the details? Here’s the rundown from Dark Horse:
Dark Horse Deluxe captures the world’s most notorious serial killer! Dexter Morgan, Miami Metro Police Department blood-spatter analyst, has a double life. When he’s not helping the homicide division solve murders, he spends his time hunting and killing bad guys who slip through the justice system.
In bringing the character, brilliantly portrayed by Michael C. Hall, into a sculpture, we wanted to capture both “sides” of everyone’s favorite serial killer. With Dexter in his signature henley-style shirt, in front he is examining a blood-spatter slide, but danger lurks hidden behind his back.
The likeness is spot on, and we couldn’t be more excited to make what we feel is the ultimate Dexter collectible.
The Dexter Limited Edition Bust was sculpted by Gentle Giant Studios and will set you back a whopping $70! Dare I say it’s worth it? This shite comes at us August 18th!
Next up we’ve got a new bobble-head from the hit show. Now “Dexter” has seen it’s fair share of bobble-heads in the past but now we’ve got a look at John Lithgow and his giant head! I’m talking about the bobbling one people…
Anyway this brand new bobble-head depicts Lithgow as ‘The Trinity Killer’ from the fourth season of “Dexter.” The goods come from the guys over at Entertainment Earth, who offer the following description:

Showtime Networks, Inc. reported that the Dexter Season 4 finale– featuring The Trinity Killer– was not only the most watched episode of Dexter ever, but was the largest single telecast on the premium television network in over a decade. The series follows Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), an incredibly likeable forensics expert for the Miami Metro Police Department, who moonlights as a serial killer with a penchant for inflicting his own unusual brand of justice– he kills people who truly deserve it.
This bad boy (literally…) is coming at us this August with a price tag of $13.
And lastly we’ve got an announcement over at Dread Central that there’s going to be a line of “Dexter” Megos figures coming at us! I kid you not ladies and gentlemen. The past few years has seen a revival of the retro Megos look and soon “Dexter” will join the trend. Scope out the press release:
In cooperation with EMCE Toys, Bif Bang Pow! is proud to bring the original “’70s style” of play to a brand-new line of articulated action figures based on some of the world’s most popular properties. Reproductions reminiscent of the best-selling action figures of the 1970s and early 1980s, these highly articulated figures will feature body designs by EMCE Toys. Each 8-inch scale figure will include real cloth clothing and plastic accessories where appropriate.
Over 40 licensed action figures are planned for 2010. The first are targeted for an early summer arrival and Comic-Con International: San Diego 2010, with others to follow later in the year.

President of EMCE Toys’ corporate parent SphereWerx Joe Sena adds: “The 8-inch format hasn’t seen this breadth of licenses since its peak during the Mego days.”
And EMCE partner Paul “Dr. Mego” Clarke closes it out: “It is exactly this intention to mix a variety of characters into imaginative play that started my journey to bring this format back ten years ago. We’re honored that Jason and his team sought us out to ‘Mego-ize’ the licenses he holds.”
According to the Mego Museum we’ll also be seeing a “Dexter” Megos figure based on ‘The Trinity Killer’ along with the titular character.
And there you have it! Loads of “Dexter” goods to get your hands on! The fifth season of “Dexter” kicks off on Showtime this September.
