Chow’s CJ7 trailer

JoBloJoBlo

Stephen Chow is a veteran of Hong Kong cinema, but his unique blend of fists and humor finally (and thankfully) made an impression in the US with his enthusiastically entertaining martial arts flicks SHAOLIN SOCCER and KUNG FU HUSTLE (for more Chow joy, track down GOD OF COOKERY, FORBIDDEN CITY COP, and whatever else you can find).

His latest flick CJ7 (aka LONG RIVER 7, aka A HOPE) appears to be continuing his comedic sensibilities — it’s about an impoverished man who inadvertently finds an alien toy for his son. The new teaser clip is online, and while it doesn’t feature any of Chow’s trademark spastic kung fu, let’s hope there’s plenty in the final film. At the very least, it’ll probably be funny.
