Chris Pine to play Steve Trevor opposite Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Long rumoured to be in talks for the role of Steve Trevor in WONDER WOMAN, it looks like we can finally officially attach Chris Pine's name to the upcoming DC film. The Wrap reports that Chris Pine has just closed a multi-picture deal, which includes options for future sequels, to star alongside Gal Gadot in WONDER WOMAN.

The plot of WONDER WOMAN is still unknown but The Wrap's sources say that Steve Trevor will be no mere romantic interest to Gal Gadot's Diana Prince as Chris Pine will have plenty of opportunities to show off his own action prowess. In the character's original comic origin, Steve Trevor was an intelligence officer during WWII whose plane crashed on Paradise Island. Trevor was later found and nursed back to health by Diana and the two found themselves falling in love. Heavens, that's just adorable.

WONDER WOMAN will be directed by Patty Jenkins, who replaced Michelle MacLaren several months ago, and written by Jason Fuchs. Gal Gadot's first appearance as the character will come in BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE on March 23, 2016 and WONDER WOMAN is scheduled to hit theaters on June 23, 2017.

Sound off in the comments, is Chris Pine a good choice for Steve Trevor?
