Just a couple days ago, we heard that Hannibal‘s Lara Jean Chorostecki will have a “heavily recurring” role in season 2 of the Syfy / USA Network series Chucky. Now the official Syfy Twitter account has confirmed some major casting news, posting an image that reveals Jennifer Tilly – who reprises the role of the homicidal Tiffany Valentine, now inhabiting the body of actress Jennifer Tilly – is being joined on the show by her sister Meg Tilly (Psycho II), her Bound co-stars Gina Gershon and Joe Pantoliano, and her best friend Sutton Stracke (known for being one of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills). Tony Nappo (Land of the Dead) is also in the mix, but he and Tilly don’t have a prior connection that comes up in searches.

The fact that Syfy said these cast members are “coming to party”, and they are dressed up for a party, leads me to suspect that we might only be seeing them at a party at some point during Chucky season 2, but it would be very cool if they end up having substantial roles on the show.

A follow-up to all of the Child’s Play movies (remake excluded), Chucky picks up where Cult of Chucky left off. Mancini developed Chucky with producer David Kirschner. Mancini and Kirschner are executive producing Chucky with Harley Peyton, Alex Hedlund, and Nick Antosca. Mancini also directed the first episode. The show’s synopsis:

After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

Chucky, which aired on the NBCUniveral cable networks Syfy and USA, reached 11.6 million viewers across all platforms during the first season. Season 2 is currently filming and is expected to start airing sometime this fall.

In addition to Jennifer Tilly, Lara Jean Chorostecki, and the other actors pictured above, the Chucky cast includes Fiona Dourif (as Nica Pierce), Zackary Arthur (as Jake Wheeler), Björgvin Arnarson (as Devon Evans), Alyvia Alyn Lind (as Lexy Cross), Alex Vincent (as Andy Barclay), Christine Elise (as Kyle), Barbara Alyn Woods (as Mayor Michelle Cross), and Brad Dourif (providing the voice of Chucky). Chucky season 2 also has Devon Sawa in its cast, despite the fact that the twin brothers he played in season 1 were both killed. Sawa has said that it feels like Mancini is going “even f*cking wilder” with season 2.
