Chucky the killer doll is coming to the small screen, as it was announced yesterday that the television series based on the CHILD'S PLAY franchise that Don Mancini (writer of all of the CHILD'S PLAY / CHUCKY movies and director of a few of them) is developing has found a home at Syfy. This left a lot of fans wondering – what can Chucky really get away with on Syfy? As it turns out, quite a lot.
I don't watch anything that airs on Syfy (I would have if they had picked up that Tremors mini-series starring Kevin Bacon), so this isn't something I knew, but the network has recently started allowing uncensored F-bombs in their shows. This new rule has apparently been demonstrated on shows like The Magicians, Happy!, and The Purge (which I didn't watch because I was waiting for DVD/Blu-ray).
In addition to writing the Chucky TV show, Mancini will be executive producing it with David Kirschner and Nick Antosca, creator of Syfy's recently cancelled anthology series Channel Zero. Antosca took to his Twitter account to assure fans that Chucky won't have to watch his language on Syfy.

So we have the vulgarity and we have AMC's The Walking Dead showing Chucky what sort of violence and gore he can get away with on a TV-MA show… I don't think this series is going to be lacking much that we normally expect to see in a Chucky movie.
And yes, Brad Dourif is expected to provide the voice that comes out of Chucky's pottymouth on the show.
