It’s been a while since we’ve seen a film billed as “the next SCREAM“, huh? With a highly anticipated new installment on the way, I suppose it makes sense for the phrase to come back to relevance. And that is just how CINEPLEX is being pitched.
Whether the hyperbole is true or not will remain unseen for a while, but Mandate Pictures is developing the film. It’s about “a group of teens watching a horror movie who are taken by surprise when the villain of the film attacks them in real life.”
Sound a bit familiar? We saw virtually the same premise in 2008’s MIDNIGHT MOVIE. Perhaps this one will fare a bit better.
