I suppose if Terry Gilliam gorged himself on Skittles and Slurpees while watching CITY OF LOST CHILDREN and then made a kids movie, it might look a bit like CITY OF EMBER.
The movie comes from MONSTER HOUSE director Gil Kenan, adapting Jeanne Duprau’s book about teens racing to save a mythical city from a power crisis. The fantasy film stars Tim Robbins, prodigy kid Saoirse Ronan (ATONEMENT), Bill Murray (!!) and Martin Landau, who surprisingly is still alive.
