It was bound to happen, right? News coming at us via Variety today has MGM moving forward with a big screen adaptation of “The Outer Limits.” That’s right folks. The classic sci-fi series from the early 1960s is getting revamped. Not like it really needs to be… but hey, this is Hollywood! And wait until I tell you who’s penning this one!
According to Variety MGM have gone and hired Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to pen the script for THE OUTER LIMITS. Now if you’re a fan of the genre at all you should recognize those two names. These guys seem to be the go-to duo in the genre today. I’m not complaining though… Sure Melton and Dunstan have put out their fair share of garbage but the duo have also brought us some awesome flicks. So what do you say? Take a step back and give the guys a shot or write this one off from the get-go?
Original “Outer Limits” producer Mark Victor is producing along with Jon Shestack, Jeremy Stein and MGM’s Cale Boyter. Now unfortunately these are the only details we’ve got for THE OUTER LIMITS but I’m sure you can let your minds run away with this one. Thoughts? Opinions? Hit us with what you think below! While you’re at it be sure to tell us what your favorite “Outer Limits” episode is and be sure keep it here for more on this project as we hear it!
