Writer/director David Marmor's feature directorial debut 1BR is set to make its world premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, Canada later this month, and a clip has been released online to give a preview of what attendees can expect to experience when they watch this film.

Starring Nicole Brydon Bloom, Alan Blumenfeld, Susan Davis, Naomi Grossman, Clayton Hoff, Giles Matthey, Taylor Nichols, Earnestine Phillips, and Celeste Sully, 1BR has the following synopsis:

After leaving behind a painful past to follow her dreams, Sarah scores the perfect Hollywood apartment. But something is not right. Unable to sleep, tormented by strange noises and threatening notes, her new life quickly starts to unravel. By the time she learns the horrifying truth, it's too late. Caught in a waking nightmare, Sarah must find the strength to hold onto her crumbling sanity… or be trapped forever in an existential hell.

In the clip embedded below, Sarah finds out how the landlord deals with it when a tenant breaks the "no pets" rule. The Fantasia write-up of 1BR mentions that Sarah's "cat is missing", and I think she finds it in this scene.

1BR will be screening at Fantasia on July 18th and 22nd. Marmor, Bloom, and producers Alok Mishra and Shane Vorster will be there to host the world premiere.

Mishra and Vorster produced the film with Sam Sandweiss, Allard Cantor, Jarrod Murray, Nic Izzi, and Peter Phok.
