Clive Owen joins Andrew Niccol’s sci-fi thriller Anon

Andrew Niccol, one of the more creative writer-directors working today (we won’t count THE HOST), has lined up his next project and attached Clive Owen to star. The film is called ANON, and it’s being produced by K5 Media Group and K5 Film.

In ANON, Owen plays…

a detective in a world with no privacy, ignorance and anonymity. It is the end of crime. However, when Owen’s character stumbles on a young woman who doesn’t exist, he discovers it may not be the end of crime but the beginning.

“Andrew is a master storyteller whose work is always compelling, entertaining and exhilarating as well as having something to say,” Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur of K5 Media Group told Deadline. “With Clive’s consistently electric on-screen presence, we know that Anon will be the best in crossover cinema for the growing global audiences of this brand of smart, big screen sci-fi.”

Niccol’s other directorial efforts include GATTACA, GOOD KILL, LORD OF WAR and SIM0NE. He was nominated for an Oscar for his THE TRUMAN SHOW screenplay.
