Clutched crosses and sheet-wearing spirits in Annabelle: Creation clips

Annabelle: Creation David F. Sandberg

Director David F. Sandberg's ANNABELLE: CREATION comes with the promise that it's going to be much better than the first ANNABELLE, and our own JimmyO has said that it is – after seeing CREATION a couple months ago, he gave it an 8/10 review.

Audiences will get a chance to decide for themselves how much better CREATION is or isn't when the film is released in just nine days, on August 11th. To help you get prepared for Annabelle's return to theatres, today we have a pair of clips to share from the film.

Written by Gary Dauberman and starring Miranda Otto, Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Anthony LaPaglia, Lulu Wilson, Philippa Anne Coulthard, Grace Fulton, Lou Lou Safran, Samara Lee, and Tayler Buck, ANNABELLE: CREATION has the following synopsis:

In “Annabelle: Creation,” several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.

The clips can be seen below, and each contains an interesting twist on popular horror imagery: in one a character clutches a crucifix while facing the forces of evil and in the other someone is menaced by a sheet-shrouded spirit. Something that's very clear here is that Sandberg has done his best to milk the maximum amount of tension from every moment.

I didn't like the first ANNABELLE, but I'm still on board to watch ANNABELLE: CREATION.
