Netflix has released footage from a table read for the sixth and final season of Cobra Kai. Now, what should they name their dojo?

Cobra Kai will be ending with its forthcoming sixth season, but Netflix will pull no punches or crane kicks when it comes to hyping up fans. At their annual Tudum event, Netflix released a reunion video that shows much of the core Cobra Kai cast getting back together for one of their final table reads…even if they did have to wait for Jacob Bertrand.

But it’s not just fans that have to be pumped for the final season of Cobra Kai – it’s also the cast themselves. As seen in the video, Ralph Macchio (Daniel LaRusso) expresses his excitement by telling his co-stars, “Great to have everyone back! So excited to be here!” William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence) also charged up the cast with a lively, “It’s been an awesome, long journey, but it is not over yet. Season six could be the biggest, the badassest, most amazing season of Cobra Kai yet, so y’all ready?!”

Fans even get a snippet from the script itself, with actor Gianni DeCenzo, who plays Demetri Alexopoulos, reading: “Victorious dojos are immortalized and for individual competitors, the sky’s the limit…But before we throw our hats into the mat, there’s one thing we need to do: decide our dojo name.”

While Cobra Kai developed a strong and loyal fanbase over its run – especially after moving to Netflix for season three – fans should be happy to know that the sixth season being the final one wasn’t Netflix’s doing, even though they do have a reputation for canceling fan-favorite shows. According to series co-creator Jon Hurwitz, “Netflix didn’t tell us it was the last season. We told them it was the last season. We’ve always wanted to end Cobra Kai on our own terms and we are grateful we have the opportunity to do so.”

Although no official release date has been set, the sixth and final season of Cobra Kai will arrive in 2024. It would be nice if fans could get a few extra episodes, although it seems likely they will stick with the traditional 10.
