Comic Con 2015: We interview the casts of Crimson Peak and Krampus!

Last Updated on February 4, 2026

Guillermo del Toro is a visionary director. From HELLBOY to PAN’S LABYRINTH, he continues to inspire and thrill audiences. And personally, CRIMSON PEAK has me excited to see the filmmaker take on a gothic romance in a very big way. While at Comic Con, we spoke to del Toro as well as his cast, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and Tom Hiddleston about their new film. They spoke about working with del Toro and taking on such a dark and creepy world, as well as how this is not simply a haunted house horror. CRIMSON PEAK opens October 16, 2015. (JimmyO)

One of the films Legendary Pictures brought to San Diego Comic-Con was the horror-dramedy KRAMPUS, a tale of yuletide terror revolving around a malevolent creature who punishes naughty people during Christmastime. (The Anti-Claus.) What’s exciting about KRAMPUS, aside from its irresistible, is the fact it comes from director Michael Dougherty, who made a memorable directorial debut seven years ago with TRICK ‘R TREAT. KRAMPUS promises to be in the same delightfully twisted vein as that instant cult classic.

Dougherty has assembled a very solid cast for the film, including Adam Scott and Toni Collette, who were both on hand at SDCC to promote KRAMPUS’ trailer debut. (Read our report HERE.) I was able to catch up with Scott, Collette and Dougherty and talk about the appeal of the wicked title character, the ways in which Amblin Entertainment inspired the production and much more.

Oh, and those of you looking forward to TRICK ‘R TREAT 2 will want to listen to what Dougherty has to say! (Could we see Krampus and Sam team up eventually?) (Eric Walkuski)
