Comic Tag film news?

TAG! I guess we’re now it in the game of guess who’ll be directing and starring in the film adaptation of the Boom Comics series. We last reported on TAG many years ago when Universal Pictures picked up the rights to the flick. It’s been that long and they still don’t have any solid news regarding who’s involved? Holy crap on a cracker! What are they waiting for?! I’m just saying that the story of TAG sounds pretty promising.

I’ll get to the synopsis in a sec, but first, have a look at the latest folks rumored to be involved (dug up by the fine hounds over at Bloody-D). Apparently, Hayden Christensen (AWAKE) is looking to star in the flick and Simon Crane is aiming to direct. Crane has never directed before, but has had plenty of experience as a second unit director and stunt coordinator. He actually worked on JUMPER, which starred Christensen.

Here is TAG’s plot synopsis: The story is set in motion when an average Joe strolls down the street after a fight with his girlfriend and a random stranger tags him, handing off an ancient pagan curse. He begins to literally die, seeing his body decompose every day before his eyes. Cursed, he must either surrender or find the next victim to tag.

Pretty sweet, huh? I’ll fill you in on any more TAG stuff as I hear it.

Yeah, Alba was in AWAKE.
