Are we really going to do this for an entire year? So with every new inkling of an update regarding J.J. Abrams’ newest ‘mystery project’ comes a brand new article for us to tell you about it! Don’t get me wrong, I dig the whole mysterious advertising thing, I dig it a lot actually, it just seems to get kind of redundant sometimes. Alas, Abrams very rarely disappoints so we’re going to follow this dude every step of the way!

The newest update regarding Abrams’ SUPER-8 comes from The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog and claims that it’s been confirmed as to what project SUPER-8 is in reference too! You ready for this? Apparently SUPER-8 will in fact be the secret collaboration between JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg that we first told you about over a week ago! We’ve even got some details on the production!

Firstly, apparently this project has been in the works for the past year and, as reported, came to fruition when Spielberg and Abrams got together and compared their earlier film experiences. It seems Abrams will be writing and directing SUPER -8, which is being planned for a Summer 2011 release. Abrams will start this one up this Fall and will be producing alongside Spielberg and Bryan Burk with a budget ranging between $45 million-$50 million.

Alas we still aren’t told exactly what SUPER-8 is, but does that surprise anyone? We’ll probably never even get a full synopsis for this one, but hey, this guy isn’t complaining! This weekend the trailer for SUPER-8 hits theaters before IRON MAN 2 so I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more on this shite soon! As always, be sure to keep it here for more on SUPER-8 as we hear it!
