Cool Horror Videos: Supercut of the 40 Greatest Movie Jump Scares

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I often see horror fans complaining about jump scares, but while it's a tactic that can definitely be overused and become annoying and ridiculous, a good jump scare can often be one of the most memorable parts of a horror movie.

YouTube user Burger Fiction has cut together a compilation of what they call the "40 Greatest Movie Jump Scares", and the resulting video is a fun, 9 minute celebration of moments designed to make you jump.

Some of the jump scares in there are ones that I would call ridiculous, and there are plenty that I never would have thought to include (like a scene from THE DARK KNIGHT), but then there are also some that I would agree are among the greatest, with moments from classics like FRIDAY THE 13TH, JAWS, THE EVIL DEAD, CARRIE, HALLOWEEN, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, and POLTERGEIST.

Check it out and see what you think:
