While browsing for some worthy news this evening, I stumbled across an outtake from SIDE BY SIDE, the documentary from Keanu Reeves on shooting film and digital. This clip shows Andy and Lana Wachowski, who rarely do interviews, discussing how performance is created in the editing room.
Lana discusses how through editing an actors performance, or a scene is often altered by something the actor did after the take. The editing can also be used if an actor does not perform in the way a director wishes. There are also other outtakes hosted over at TribecaFilm.com. I could listen to David Lynch talk for hours.
