Cool Videos: Apple’s Maps app screws over Batman, Jack Torrance, and Katniss Everdeen

JoBloJoBlo

It is pretty well known how bad the new Apple iOS6 was rolled out, especially the new Google-free Maps app. But, did you know it had serious ramifications for several famous movie characters? If it wasn’t for the lack of beta testing on Apple’s part, who know if THE DARK KNIGHT, THE SHINING, or THE HUNGER GAMES would have ended the way that they did?

In all seriousness, have you noticed that you never see movie characters looking at maps anymore or complaining that they are lost? It used to be a pretty standard plot device whereas today it usually falls to the old “dead battery” trope for a character to be isolated.

Anyway, my rant is over. Check out this funny videos.
