While Quentin Tarantino‘s THE HATEFUL EIGHT may not be happening any time soon, fans of the director will have to look to his existing filmography to hold them until his next film comes to light. In a nice little treat, a very rare video has been discovered on YouTube that goes all the way back to the beginning.

ScreenCrush shared the link for this eight minute video of rehearsal scenes from Tarantino’s first film, RESERVOIR DOGS. The video in question features Steve Buscemi and Quentin Tarantino acting some key scenes from the heist film during a Sundance lab exercise back in 1991. Buscemi plays Mr. Pink as he does in the final film while Tarantino delivers Harvey Keitel‘s Mr. White. Someone can be seen playing the body of Mr. Orange but it is unknown if it is Tim Roth.

This is a very cool excerpt to the development process from one of the best directors working today back when he was still a rookie. It also makes me hope against hope that we will see Steve Buscemi appear in a new Quentin Tarantino film some day.
