Recently, this fan-made trailer for JOHN CARTER appeared online and has been making the rounds, being touted as the marketing venture Disney should have made for the film. It’s a nicely cut trailer, although suffers from a few music/sound overlaps, that serves as more of a mash-up of all the JOHN CARTER footage that’s been shared thus far.

Personally, I don’t think it’s as big of a game changer as it’s been made out to be. The strength of the trailer is that it ties JOHN CARTER to Earth and we can make out, ever so slightly, what’s going on (i.e. John Carter discovering the device that takes him to Mars, etc.). Disney included snippets of this in the original trailer, but have ignored it in subsequent ones. Perhaps that was the mistake.
Since the Twitter embargo has been lifted for reviewers, a slew of them have been rolling in and none of them are similar to GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE. In fact, there hasn’t been a single review that likens it to excrement.
