What we have here is a case of art imitating art imitating life, in that the ASSASSIN’S CREED series of games were (amongst many other things) inspired by the very real art of parkour (free running) and now this video is of a parkour artist dressed like an Assassin doing parkour.

Perhaps you’ve seen this sort of thing before, but I doubt it was done in this cool or professional as a fashion.  I really, really doubt it.  The music, the costume, the dude’s skill, the camera work, the camera quality – it’s all top notch.  And it actually works quite well as “proof of concept” for Michael Fassbender’s recently announced cinematic foray into the world of ASSASSIN’S CREED, so that’s encouraging.

Fun fact: this was filmed in my recent home of Salt Lake City, UT.  Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it was very strange to be watching and suddenly realize halfway through: “wait a minute, isn’t that… ? And that?! And… and yep.  Yep, that’s definitely downtown Salt Lake City.”

It’s too bad he didn’t make a go at climbing the Temple.  After all, once you’ve successfully scaled the Dome of the Rock and the Vatican in the games, you really should have license to climb anything.
