One thing I’d like to see more of is audition tapes. I’ve seen the ones for STAR WARS, INDIANA JONES, BREAKING BAD, and many others. It gives you a chance to see what could have been, or what was so great about a particular audition. There’s also the ones where you are glad a certain actor didn’t get the part. Nonetheless, it’s still pretty cool.
Today, an audition submission for DJANGO UNCHAINED surfaced. So, what if Tyrese Gibson had been cast as Django instead of Jamie Foxx? We knew that Will Smith was the original choice, but I have to wonder what Quentin Tarantino thought of Gibson’s portrayal. I think one of the things missing here is a certain amount of charm. Yes, Django is a hard ass but he’s also charismatic.
