Cool Videos: William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy reunite for new Volkswagen ad

JoBloJoBlo

While rumors continue to percolate about a reunion of William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy in character in Roberto Orci‘s upcoming STAR TREK 3, we as fans will continue to have to make due with the existing films and television episodes starring the original Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock. But, that doesn’t mean we aren’t going to see more fun little pop culture moments that we have become used to over the last decades.

A new ad from Volkswagen, apparently only available in German for now, features Shatner and Nimoy playing themselves. A young boy, an avid fan of the Original Series, tags along for some driving with his science fiction icon. A fun little ad for the car manufacturer’s “Future” campaign, this commercial not only features the two actors, but also the iconic original STAR TREK music as well as some colorful sweaters on Shatner and Nimoy.

Fans of the original actors should get a kick out of this and we will no doubt see more from this campaign in the future. Whether or not we see the pair in STAR TREK 3 will have to wait until that film hits theaters in 2016.
